    Hi ,

I can't find it in config.
Is it a place to configure a bounce mail adress?
It's very useful for finding out which addresses are wrong or no longer active.

    Thx
    Patrick

    Hello Patrick,

handling bounced mails are not part or a CMS, still less part of an extension to a CMS. Handling bounced mails is part of a mail server, especially the mail transfer agent (MTA). The sending mail server sends the mails to the receiving mail server and gets the response of it. The sender has to react to the received response. I suppose, no "official" mail server (gmail, gmx, t-online, …) hat the possibility to set the bounce reaction by user.

Handling bounced mails by CMS/extension would need a dedicated mail server under Your control and the correct connection to the CMS/extension.

But I think, this is not needed, because most, if not all, mail servers are configured to inform the sender (mail address), if a mail could not be delivered. So You get a "Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender" notification to Your sending mail address by Your provider.

If You need special handling for these notifications, You may set a filter at Your mail client (Thunderbird, evolution, outlook, …).

    Hi Romana,
    You're absolutely right.
I think I've picked up some bad habits with Acymailing :)

    Thx

    Hi Patrick,

I think, that are not bad habits. I know AcyMailing only by name, but I could imagine, that they offer the use of mass mailers like mailChimp. I also could imagine, that these mass mailers offers their users customized handling of bounced mails and AcyMailing works as an interface between user and mass mailer.

    Kindly
    Romana

    Hi Romana,

I've been using Acymailing on other sites for years, and it's true that their bounce management is convenient, as it automatically unsubscribes or deletes mails in error.

On the other hand, since their takeover, I hate the new interface, which I think is too much for Wordpress users.
I don't like drag and drop...:)

Thank you for your great work !

    Thx
    Patick
