[SOLVED] Component is not seen in Joomla 4
Component is not seen in Joomla 4 was created by Wolfgang
I was using postman 3.1.7in Joomla 3, upgraded to Joomla 4 and now have the same problem as Webmaster OGH:
After the upgrade to Joomla 4 I expected that BwPostman 4 would be presented (based on the information on the website: After the upgrade to Joomla! 4 You should update BwPostman immediately. If You go to System -> Update -> Extensions, the update to BwPostman 4 is presented. But the update to BwPostman is not presented.
Obviously the component is installed in Joomla 4 (see the attachements), but it is not in the list of the components and I cannot delete postman at all.
If I try to reinstall Postman 4 I get the problem you can see in the attachment, too.
Sorry for my mistake in the last section, but I am not so familiar with the conventions in forums like this!

Hello Wolfgang,
as mentioned at the "captured" thread, this is not the same problem as Webmaster OHG has had. He tried to get BwPostman4 before the release of BwPostman4. After the release of BwPostman4 he had no problems.
I've checked the update process with the current Joomla! 4.0.4 and it seems to need an additional step to see the update to BwPostman4. After clicking to System -> Update -> Extensions You have to click at "Check for Updates". The update to BwPostman4 will be presented.
Re-installation or better spoken over-installation is another good way to get BwPostman updated. I also tried Your way to install BwPostman4 from URL and it works fine here. Perhaps there is a not working version of the package in some cache, maybe browser or proxy. Try the following way: Download BwPostman4 from the mentioned URL and install it by "Paketdatei hochladen".

Thank you for the fast response!
Both ways to solve the problem didn't work.
The option to download and install it from the PC was my first way to install it, but wasn't successful.
The 'Check for Updates' didn't solve the problem, too (see the attachement).
I don't think it's a problem of updating, because the version of postman installed is correct (4.0.0).
Is there a way to cancel the installation completely and install it from the scratch? BTW: The 'normal' way to uninstall it didn't work, too: The extension did not disappear.

Okay, it seems Your installation is totally broken, hopefully only the part of BwPostman.
To uninstall BwPostman manually, You have to ensure following folders and files are not present:
Then You have to ensure, the entries for the parts of BwPostman at table #__extensions are removed. If You use phpMyAdmin You can search for name LIKE %bw%.
The tables of BwPostman are all named by #__bwpostman_XXX, where XXX is the name of a specific table. Remove them all.

Thanks for your advices, but they didn'thelp.
I did all of them and then tried to install Postman again, but wasn't successful (see attachement).
Maybe the reason is, that the Installation is under a plesk-enviroment and some of the pathes are inconvenient.
It's a pitty, but I give up.
BTW: The rest of the installation/upgrading of Joomla 3 to 4 was successful.
Thanks anyway!
